About this role

Build the Future of Research

InvivoCure is growing quickly

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Van Nuys. Spanish-fluency is a must. Cardiology experience is a big plus.

This important position combines the challenge of clinical research with meaningful continuity of care in cardiology.

Approximately 75% of the role will support industry-sponsored clinical trials as a Sub-Investigator, working under the Principal Investigator’s oversight and within the practitioner’s licensure, training, protocol delegation, and site procedures. The remaining 25% will provide clinical and hospital coverage for our cardiologist Principal Investigator, helping patients receive responsive, coordinated care across settings.

What You Will Do

Clinical Research — Approximately 75%

  • Protect participant rights, safety, and well-being while helping conduct trials in accordance with the protocol, Good
  • Clinical Practice, applicable regulations, IRB requirements, and InvivoCure procedures.
  • Perform protocol-delegated clinical activities such as medical-history review, physical examinations, eligibility assessments, study visits, review of laboratory and diagnostic results, and clinical decision-making.
  • Assess and document adverse events, serious adverse events, concomitant medications, medical history, and changes in participant status; escalate and report safety information promptly.
  • Support the informed-consent process when delegated, confirm participant understanding, and answer clinical questions within scope.
  • Complete timely, accurate, attributable source documentation and respond to clinical data queries in collaboration with coordinators, the PI, sponsors, CROs, monitors, and other study partners.
  • Administer or oversee investigational products, injections, and infusion-related procedures when permitted by protocol, training, licensure, and competency.
  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, investigator meetings, protocol training, recruitment planning, and team huddles.
  • Help strengthen clinical workflows, quality systems, technology adoption, and a culture of continuous improvement as InvivoCure expands.

Cardiology Practice Coverage — Approximately 25%

  • Provide outpatient cardiology and internal-medicine support for established and new patients within scope and under the applicable collaboration or practice arrangement.
  • Obtain focused histories, perform examinations, develop assessments and plans, order and interpret appropriate testing, reconcile medications, and provide patient education.
  • Assist with hospital rounding, consultations, follow-up, transitions of care, and clinical documentation as scheduled with the cardiologist PI.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, nursing teams, pharmacies, specialists, and hospital personnel in English and Spanish.
  • Maintain timely documentation and support appropriate coding, follow-up, and care coordination.

What You Bring

Required

  • Current, unrestricted California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, with all credentials required to practice and prescribe or furnish medications within the role’s scope.
  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program; current national certification appropriate to the practitioner’s discipline and population focus.
  • Mid-level professional experience, ideally three or more years of post-training clinical practice.
  • Professional Spanish proficiency sufficient to conduct patient interviews, explain care and research procedures, and support informed communication.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain ACLS, DEA registration, hospital privileges, payer enrollment, and study-specific credentials as required.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, documentation, communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work primarily in Van Nuys and travel occasionally to InvivoCure sites in the region and domestic investigator meetings.

Highly Valued

  • Clinical research experience, including work as a Sub-Investigator, investigator, research clinician, or trial-site provider.
  • Knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice, FDA-regulated research, informed consent, safety reporting, source documentation, and protocol compliance.
  • Infusion-therapy experience, including patient assessment, vascular access familiarity, medication administration, reaction recognition, and emergency response.
  • Technological confidence with electronic health records, clinical trial management systems, electronic data capture, eSource, electronic regulatory systems, mobile devices, and video collaboration.
  • Experience in hospital cardiology, internal medicine, heart failure, arrhythmia, hypertension, dyslipidemia, preventive cardiology, or cardiometabolic care.
  • A builder’s mindset: adaptable, collaborative, quality-focused, and energized by creating scalable systems in a rapidly growing organization.

How You Will Succeed

  • Participant and patient safety comes first.
  • Clinical decisions and documentation are accurate, timely, and protocol-aligned.
  • The PI, coordinators, and clinical team can rely on clear communication and dependable coverage.
  • Sponsors and partners experience InvivoCure as responsive, organized, technologically capable, and inspection-ready.
  • You help improve—not merely inherit—our workflows as the company grows.

What We Offer

  • Base salary of $160,000–$190,000 per year for this full-time W-2 position. The final offer will reflect relevant cardiology and research experience, credentials, Spanish proficiency, hospital responsibilities, schedule, and internal equity.
  • Competitive benefits package, paid time off, and professional-development support, subject to plan terms and company policy.
  • Exposure to innovative, industry-sponsored research and the opportunity to help shape a fast-growing clinical research organization.
  • A modern, collaborative environment co-located with the cardiology and internal-medicine practice of our Principal Investigator and Co-Founder, Rodney Samaan, MD, MPH.
  • A mission-driven team that values excellent care, strong execution, curiosity, accountability, and respect.
