Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid, 4 days onsite) or Remote (US, if not local to Jersey City)

Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking two Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineers to help build out a new Kubernetes environment for a high-visibility special project. You will join the Production Services DevOps team within the firm's Technology Services Group, working hands-on to stand up clusters from the ground up, onboard application teams, and keep the platform healthy and well-monitored.

What You Will Do

• Build and configure new Kubernetes clusters, with a focus on Red Hat OpenShift
• Onboard application teams to the platform and troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Maintain platform hygiene, stability, and operational best practices
• Set up, monitor, and act on platform alerts
• Support the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering
• 6+ years of hands-on Linux experience
• 5+ years of Kubernetes experience, ideally with Red Hat OpenShift

Nice to have

• Experience in the securities or financial services industry
• 5+ years of experience deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications
• 5+ years of experience with container runtimes such as Docker, runC, or CRI-O
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• 5+ years of experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sysdig, or Splunk
• 5+ years of scripting experience in Python and Shell
• Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, EX200, EX280, or EX288
