Full Stack Java Developer

Job Description: Intermediate Full Stack Developer (Level 3)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive Intermediate Full Stack Developer to join our team in Malvern. This role is a backfill for an existing project team that supports core financial and wealth management applications.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who operates independently, possesses strong conceptual engineering knowledge, and proactively proposes technical solutions rather than waiting for direction. You will work across the full software development lifecycle building modern front-end user interfaces, resilient back-end services, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain front-end web applications and back-end microservices.
• API & Service Engineering: Convert traditional APIs into modern Supergraphs using GraphQL and RESTful microservices architecture.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Implement and manage AWS serverless architecture and data stores, including Lambda functions, ECS clusters, DynamoDB, S3, and IAM roles.
• Batch & Service Refactoring: Maintain and refactor batch jobs and services built in Python and Java.
• Technical Documentation: Author clear, reusable technical documentation for system design, codebases, and architectural decisions.
• Operational Support: Participate in a weekly rotation for production support (PagerDuty alerts) and assist with off-hours deployments as required.
• Collaboration & Quality: Work collaboratively within the team, clearly articulate problems and technical solutions, and write maintainable code that prevents production bugs.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Core Technical Stack (Required):

• Front-End: Angular, TypeScript
• Back-End: Java (Spring/Microservices)
• API Integration: GraphQL / Supergraph exposure, REST APIs
• Experience: 5–8 years of professional software development experience in corporate enterprise environments

Cloud & Secondary Skills (Preferred):

• AWS Services: Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, and IAM roles (AWS Certifications are a strong plus).
• Scripting / Python: Familiarity with Python for batch processing and Lambda functions.
• AI Tool Proficiency: Experience leveraging AI assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery while maintaining deep conceptual understanding of the generated code.
• Domain: Previous or Financial Services enterprise experience is strongly preferred.
