JOB SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer & Project Coordinator is a hands-on designer who transforms complex insurance, regulatory and public policy information into clear, compelling and accessible visual communications. Serves as the creative lead for all visual communications, including brand identity, website design, event signage, and graphics for member events and organizational communications.
CREATIVE TRAFFIC CONTROLLER This role manages multiple projects, coordinates deadlines, and helps campaigns move efficiently from concept through approval and delivery.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced association environment and able to balance creativity with accuracy, brand consistency, and business objectives. Detail oriented and able to work and communicate effectively in a collaborative environment.
The position requires advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and demonstrated experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to accelerate ideas, design production, content development, and workflow management. This is an individual-contributor role and does not include responsibility for supervising employees.
This is a hybrid position based in Austin, Texas. The employee must live within 100 miles of Austin and be available to work in ICT’s Austin office at least four to five times per month or as needed.

Design and Visual Communications
- Design professional, engaging materials for print and digital use, including annual reports, market reports, infographics, educational handouts, presentations, event materials, email graphics, advertisements, and social media content.
- Primary contact for website design and updates including graphics, page layouts, content development and other digital assets that are visually appealing, accurate, mobile-friendly and consistent with accessibility and user-experience best practices.
- Translate complicated insurance, regulatory, legislative and public policy topics into clear, accurate and easy-to-understand visual content for members, policymakers, the media and the public.
- Create data visualizations, charts, and infographics.
- Maintain consistent use of organizational logos, colors, typography, imagery, and messaging across all materials.
- Prepare production-ready files and coordinate with printers, vendors, contractors and external creative partners as needed.
- Conduct thorough quality control reviews to ensure all materials are accurate, polished, accessible and free of design or production errors.
Artificial Intelligence and Creative Innovation
- Use generative AI and other emerging technologies to support concept development, image creation, content adaptation, production workflows, and process automation.
- Develop effective prompts and repeatable AI-assisted workflows that improve the speed, quality, and consistency of creative production.
- Evaluate new design, marketing, and productivity tools and recommend practical applications that improve team efficiency.
- Apply appropriate human review and sound judgment to all AI-assisted work, ensuring final materials meet organizational standards for accuracy, originality, privacy, copyright compliance and brand integrity.
- Help establish responsible practices and procedures for the team's use of AI in communications and marketing.
Creative Project and Workflow Coordination
- Serve as the central point of coordination for creative requests, schedules, reviews, approvals, and final deliverables.
- Use online project management platforms, such as Monday.com, to organize assignments, establish timelines, track dependencies, and maintain visibility into project status.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with different audiences, priorities, and deadlines.
- Anticipate production needs, identify potential delays, and follow up with contributors and reviewers to keep work moving.
- Develop and maintain creative briefs, project templates, intake processes, production calendars, and approval of workflows.
- Coordinate with staff, subject-matter experts and outside partners to gather content, clarify expectations and confirm project requirements before design work begins.
- Organize and maintain a searchable library of design files, templates, photography, video, brand assets and completed materials.
- Recommend improvements to design and marketing processes that reduce duplication, simplify approvals, and increase efficiency.
Marketing and Association Support
- Collaborate with communications, government affairs, member services, education foundation and events staff to support organizational campaigns and priorities.
- Develop creative materials that promote membership, events, education initiatives, public awareness campaigns, and the organization's affiliated entities.
- Assist with email marketing, digital campaigns and website content by providing compelling designs and visual storytelling.
- Adapt creative concepts for multiple audiences and channels while maintaining a consistent overall campaign identity.
- Support event-related creative needs, including signage, presentations, digital displays, sponsorship materials, and on-site graphics.
- Monitor design, digital marketing, and AI trends and identify new approaches that could strengthen the organization's communications.
- Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
AND REQUIREMENTS
- At least three years of professional graphic design, visual communications, or creative production experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat. Proficiency in WordPress for website design.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating experience with long-form publications, data visualization, digital content, social media graphics, websites and informational or educational materials.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established workflows, brand guidelines, and review processes in a professional environment. Must consistently produce accurate, polished work, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience using generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools in a professional environment.
- Experience managing creative projects, production schedules, and approval of workflows using Monday.com or a comparable project management platform.
- Experience demonstrating strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet firm deadlines and manage the review and editing process.
- Strong attention to detail, including visual accuracy, proofreading, version control, and file management.
- Ability to interpret technical or complicated subject matter and present it in a clear, visually engaging and audience-appropriate format.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments, and proactively seek clarification when project requirements are incomplete or unclear.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, executives, subject-matter experts, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Sound judgment when working with confidential, sensitive, or time-critical information.
PREFERRED
- Experience designing data-heavy annual reports, research reports, policy publications, or other complex, multipage documents.
- Experience working for a professional or trade association, nonprofit organization, government affairs organization, marketing agency or regulated industry.
- Familiarity with the property and casualty insurance industry, public policy or legislative and regulatory communications.
- Experience with web design, content management systems, email marketing platforms, and digital accessibility standards. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects or other video and motion-graphics tools.
- Experience creating presentations and presentation templates, and executive-level presentations.
- Knowledge of Associated Press style.
- Experience working with commercial printers and managing print-production specifications.
- Familiarity with marketing analytics and the use of performance data to improve creative content.

EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred. Directly related professional experience, and a strong portfolio may be substituted for formal education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods ofsitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
Pay: $63,000. 00 - $85,500. 00 per year
