Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and implementing scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, and AI-powered testing solutions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building automation frameworks from the ground up, defining automation strategies, leveraging AI tools to accelerate test creation and maintenance, and ensuring high-quality software delivery across web applications and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Build automation frameworks from scratch, including framework architecture, project structure, reusable utilities, common libraries, and AI-assisted testing capabilities.
• Lead automation initiatives and define the overall test automation strategy, roadmap, and AI adoption strategy.
• Leverage AI-powered tools and Generative AI solutions to accelerate test script generation, test scenario design, test data creation, and automation maintenance.
• Develop framework capabilities for test data management, configuration management, logging, reporting, screenshots, trace analysis, and failure diagnostics.
• Integrate automated UI tests with API testing, AI-assisted quality engineering practices, and other testing solutions.
• Implement API testing using Playwright APIRequestContext or integrate with suitable API automation tools; evaluate AI-assisted API test generation and response validation where beneficial.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and explore AI-assisted analysis of pipeline failures, test results, and execution trends.
• Mentor and guide automation engineers on framework development, AI-assisted automation, coding standards, debugging, and testing best practices.
• Work closely with developers, QA engineers, product owners, business analysts, and architects to understand requirements and identify automation and AI adoption opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality engineering processes, automation maturity, and AI-enabled testing practices.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, and test automation, including experience leading automation initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Proven experience building scalable test automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with REST API testing and API automation.
• Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Experience using AI tools to generate, enhance, debug, or maintain automated test scripts and test scenarios.
• Understanding of prompt engineering techniques for generating test cases, test data, automation code, and test documentation.
• Familiarity with AI integration approaches such as APIs, model-based services, or LLM-powered testing utilities is an advantage.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate across teams.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and shift-left testing practices

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
