Job Summary
We are seeking an Systems Engineer to support the development and analysis of space system architectures for our Digital Engineering Solutions (DES) product team. This position will apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and analytical modeling techniques to characterize complex space systems, evaluate system behavior and performance, and support architecture and mission-level analysis.
The ideal candidate combines SysML-based systems modeling with hands-on C++, MATLAB, or Python development and an understanding of space system architectures. The position may be filled by an early-career individual at the Junior (IC1), Associate (IC2), or Staff (IC3) level based on experience and demonstrated technical capability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain MBSE/SysML models representing space system architectures, interfaces, behaviors, and requirements.
- Develop C++, MATLAB, and/or Python software to support system modeling, simulation, analysis, and engineering workflows.
- Translate space mission concepts and system requirements into executable or descriptive models that support engineering analysis and decision-making.
- Contribute to modeling and simulation (M&S) activities used to evaluate system behavior, performance, interfaces, and architecture alternatives.
- Analyze space mission and system data to characterize performance and inform architecture and engineering decisions.
- Integrate MBSE models with analytical models, simulations, and other digital engineering artifacts.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and mission engineers to maintain consistency between system architecture, analytical models, and implementation.
- Support technical reviews, trade studies, engineering analyses, and customer deliverables.
- Communicate technical results and recommendations to engineering teams and Government stakeholders.
Qualifications:

+ Experience developing or working with MBSE and SysML models for complex systems.
+ Experience with modeling and simulation (M&S) of aerospace, space, or other complex engineered systems.
+ Software development or engineering analysis experience using C++, MATLAB, and/or Python.
+ Understanding of space system architectures, including the relationships between space, ground, communications, mission, and supporting system elements.
+ Ability to translate engineering concepts, requirements, and architectures into structured system models or analytical implementations.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred Skills
:
+ Experience analyzing space mission or system performance data.
+ Experience in system and subsystem-level requirements derivation, interface definition, architecture development, integration, or verification for Space or Ground Systems.
+ Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar tools.
+ Hands-on experience in developing and coding system models, algorithms, or test and evaluation tools.
+ Experience integrating descriptive system models with simulations, analysis tools, or software-based engineering environments.
+ Familiarity with space mission design, satellite systems, ground systems, or space communications architectures.
+ Excellent communication skills, including technical writing, oral presentations, and interpersonal skills
