Cloud Software Engineer

Job Description

Improving is seeking a skilled Cloud Software Engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, experience with cloud platforms, and the ability to build secure, scalable, and reliable applications.

In this role, you will collaborate with software engineers, cloud architects, and technical stakeholders to develop cloud-native applications, improve infrastructure automation, and support efficient software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications and software services.
• Build and deploy applications using cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Develop APIs, application components, and integrations to support business requirements.
• Implement automated testing, deployment, and continuous integration workflows.
• Monitor application performance, availability, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot software defects, cloud infrastructure issues, and deployment failures.
• Apply security best practices to cloud resources, application access, and sensitive data.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve software delivery.
• Use infrastructure automation tools to support consistent cloud environments.
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and architecture discussions.
• Maintain technical documentation and identify opportunities to improve scalability and reliability.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in software engineering, cloud development, or a related technical role.
• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Java, C#, Go, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, and identity management.
• Experience developing APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar technologies is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
