Solar Electrical Engineer

About the Position

Immediate Solar is seeking an experienced, Texas-licensed Electrical Professional Engineer to handle in-house electrical engineering for our residential and commercial solar and battery storage installations.

We have an established operations team and are looking for one qualified engineer who can independently prepare complete electrical plan sets, perform necessary engineering calculations, and professionally seal their own work.

Responsibilities

• Design complete electrical plan sets for residential and commercial solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
• Prepare electrical single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, load calculations, and equipment specifications.
• Review and professionally stamp electrical engineering drawings under responsible charge and within demonstrated competence.
• Prepare electrical documentation for permitting and utility interconnection.
• Respond to AHJ and utility engineering corrections.
• Coordinate with our existing operations and permitting teams.
• Work with AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope, Solesca, or equivalent design software.

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 3 years of relevant solar PV, BESS, or electrical power systems engineering experience.
• Experience preparing and sealing electrical construction documents.
• Strong knowledge of NEC requirements, electrical distribution, and utility interconnection.
• Ability to independently complete engineering assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tesla Powerwall and commercial battery energy storage systems.
• Familiarity with Texas AHJ permitting requirements.
• Previous experience working for a Texas-registered engineering firm.
• Experience with both residential and commercial solar projects.

Pay: $88,800.00 - $125,000.00 per year
