Job description

About this role

I'm recruiting for a privately held technology organisation operating an extraordinary computing environment spanning large-scale Linux infrastructure, GPUs, Kubernetes and purpose-built supercomputers.

My client is looking to hire 2–3 Senior / Staff-level Security Engineers, working on a hybrid basis (three days per week onsite) from any of the following locations: New York / Durham, NC / Pittsburgh, PA They're growing a small Security Engineering team and looking for genuinely technical security generalists who can build.

This isn't a position where you'll be responsible for one narrow security discipline or spend your time implementing commercial security products. You'll be writing software, developing security tooling and solving complex problems across Linux infrastructure, identity, detection, vulnerability research, incident response and emerging AI security challenges.

The backgrounds I'm interested in

Security engineers with deep Linux and operating-system fundamentals. Software engineers who have moved into security engineering. Engineers who personally develop security tools and systems using Python, Go, C/C++ or similar languages.

Technical generalists comfortable working across multiple security disciplines. Engineers who enjoy solving unfamiliar problems independently rather than relying on existing products. Experience with HPC, distributed systems or large-scale compute environments would be particularly interesting, but isn't essential.

The technical bar is exceptionally high, and compensation has been structured to compete with the world's leading AI companies. If you're a security engineer who enjoys building software and understanding how systems actually work, I'd welcome a conversation.
