Software Engineer – Full Stack Java
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with 6+ years of experience developing full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, APIs, and GCP. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
The position follows a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in the office in Dearborn, MI, and 1 day per week working from home. Fully remote work is not available. Candidates must be located near the Metro Detroit area and able to commute to the office by the start date.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their use cases, pain points, and requirements and advocate for user-centric software solutions.
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering solutions using various tools, programming languages, frameworks, methodologies, and technologies.
- Assess software application or service requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
- Create high-level software designs outlining the overall structure, components, and interfaces of applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and architects.
- Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes.
- Continuously improve application performance and optimize applications while implementing new technologies to improve development efficiency.
- Apply software development practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Support security practices designed to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
- Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices using server-side languages.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver software solutions.
- Monitor and participate in the development of new technology stack layers and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 6+ years of experience developing full-stack applications.
- Strong development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, APIs, and GCP.
- Experience setting up, managing, and streamlining GCP environments.
- Experience setting up and managing Tekton Pipelines.
- Experience implementing CI/CD practices.
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA or Rally for task management and Agile practices.
- Detailed and rigorous software testing experience with a strong focus on quality delivery.
- Ability to learn business processes, understand business needs, diagnose problems or enhancements, and independently develop complete solutions.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Experience with application testing and API development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience with platform tools such as FOSSA and Cycode.
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Experience using AI tools to assist with general software development tasks, such as GitHub Copilot and LLMs.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with COBOL.
- Experience with Job Control Language (JCL).
- Experience with mainframe systems.
Work Schedule and Location
- Location: Dearborn, Michigan
- Schedule: Hybrid
- 4 days per week in the office

- Standard work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
