Senior HR Business

Partner | First HR Hire Vacaville, California | On-site with ~20% travel The Opportunity Hoxton Circle is partnering with a growing, multi-state distribution business to hire its first dedicated HR leader beneath the Chief People Officer. You’ll be the HR advisor for leaders across a large, mostly hourly California workforce, with the chance to build the function as the business grows through acquisition.

Direct reports are planned as the team expands.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with senior and site leaders on workforce planning, org structure and people priorities, using HR data to drive decisions and working closely with Finance on headcount.
• Lead complex employee relations work, including investigations, corrective action, terminations and leave and accommodation matters, and coaching managers through it.
• Own California and multi-state compliance, partnering with Payroll, Operations and Legal on wage-and-hour risk, policies, training and agency matters.
• Support acquisition due diligence and integration, and lead performance, compensation and change management cycles across the business.

Who You Are

• You have 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager, supporting large hourly workforces in distribution, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or transportation.
• You know California employment and wage-and-hour law in depth, you’ve run workplace investigations, and you’ve supported a multi-state company of meaningful size.
• You’re comfortable being the first HR hire, equally at home on warehouse floors and with leadership, and you handle difficult conversations with candor and discretion.
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR or PHR-CA certification, PE-backed or acquisition integration experience, labor relations experience, and bilingual English and Spanish are all a plus.
