Whaley Hammonds, a dynamic public accounting firm located in McDonough, GA, provides a wide range of tax, accounting and advisory services to a diverse roster of clients including small businesses and individuals. We're currently seeking a dedicated self-starter with 2+ years of recent public accounting experience to lead tax and accounting engagements.

Responsibilities:

• Tax Services – Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust & estate, and non-profit tax returns.
• Accounting Services – Lead engagements throughout all phases of accounting including tax research & planning and financial statement preparation.
• Resolve Tax Matters – Research and resolve federal and state tax issues.
• Client Services - Build trusted client relationships and work collaboratively with staff and clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 2+ years of recent public accounting tax experience preparing individual and business tax returns
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws
• CPA license or CPA candidate is a plus
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, client service and PC skills including MS Office and tax software proficiency (UltraTax proficiency is a plus)
• Desire to learn with the ability to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Experience in the healthcare and hospitality industries is a plus
