Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead – .NET & SQL

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Microservices Technical

Lead – SQL/. NET to support a large-scale tolling modernization program. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, .

NET/C#, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), database modernization, and microservices architecture .

The Technical

Lead will work closely with the PM/Scrum Master, technical SMEs, developers, QA, DevOps, Cloud, and BA teams to modernize a monolithic database and align it with microservice-based architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical design discussions for

microservices, database modernization, and API integration

.

• Perform hands-on

SQL Server/T-SQL development

, including stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning.

• Support

.NET/C# backend and API development

.

• Guide senior developers and provide technical leadership.
• Modernize database schemas and align them with

microservice boundaries

.

• Develop

Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines

and support ETL/data migration activities.

• Participate in code reviews and technical documentation reviews.
• Collaborate with .NET, SQL, BA, QA, DevOps, Cloud, and CAB teams.
• Support database migration and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure solutions meet

PCI, data retention, security, and audit requirements

.

• Work within Agile delivery environments and support project execution.

Required Skills

• 10+ years

of overall IT experience.

• 7+ years

of SQL Server development.

• 5+ years

of . NET/C# backend development.

• 3–5 years

of technical leadership experience.

• 3+ years

of application/database modernization or migration experience.

• 3+ years

of Azure SQL experience, specifically on IaaS VM environments.

• 3+ years

of Azure Data Factory (ADF) and ETL experience.

• Experience with

microservices architecture and API integration

.

• Strong experience with

T-SQL, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance optimization

.

• Strong Agile/Scrum experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with

state government or transportation/tolling projects

.

• Experience working in

regulated or audited environments

.

• Knowledge of

PCI compliance and secure data handling

.

• Experience decomposing

monolithic applications/databases into microservice-aligned architecture

.
