Role Overview
We are looking for a
Senior UI/UX Designer
with strong experience in designing intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly experiences for
mobile and tablet applications
.
The candidate does not need hands-on Android development experience but should have a strong understanding of
Android device design considerations, responsive/adaptive layouts, screen sizes, orientations, touch interactions, navigation patterns, and Material Design principles
.
The role will involve working closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, developers, and QA teams to translate business requirements into high-quality UI/UX designs and ensure that the implemented application provides a consistent and intuitive user experience across Android devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the
UI/UX design lifecycle
for mobile and tablet applications from requirements analysis through final design and implementation support.
- Understand business requirements and user workflows and translate them into:
- User journeys
- User flows
- Wireframes
- High-fidelity mockups
- Interactive prototypes
- Design user experiences specifically optimized for
Android mobile and tablet devices
.
- Design for different
screen sizes, resolutions, aspect ratios, and orientations
, including portrait and landscape modes.
- Consider device-specific characteristics such as
touch interaction, screen real estate, navigation, gestures, keyboard/input behavior, and accessibility
.
- Design interfaces that work effectively on larger tablet screens while maintaining usability and consistency with mobile experiences.
- Apply
Material Design principles and Android UI/UX guidelines
when designing application screens.
- Create reusable UI components and contribute to a
consistent design system
.
- Define appropriate layouts, spacing, typography, icons, controls, navigation patterns, and interaction behaviors.
- Work with developers to ensure
design feasibility and accurate implementation
of the approved UI/UX.
- Review implemented screens and provide feedback to ensure
design fidelity and consistency
with approved designs.
- Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve UI/UX-related issues.
- Analyze existing applications and identify opportunities for
UX simplification, modernization, and usability improvements
.
- Conduct design reviews with stakeholders and incorporate feedback into the designs.
- Participate in usability testing and use feedback to improve user journeys and application experiences.
- Ensure designs consider
accessibility, usability, performance perception, and consistency
across supported devices.
- Maintain design documentation, specifications, component libraries, and design guidelines.
Required UI/UX Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with
Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar UI/UX tools
.

Android / Tablet Design Knowledge
The candidate is
not required to be an Android developer
, but should have practical knowledge of designing applications for Android devices, including:
- Android mobile and tablet screen specifications and constraints.
- Designing for different
screen densities, resolutions, and aspect ratios
.
- Responsive/adaptive layouts for tablets and mobile devices.
- Portrait and landscape orientations.
- Touch targets and gesture-based interactions.
- Android navigation patterns and common UI components.
- Dialogs, bottom sheets, menus, tabs, lists, forms, cards, and other mobile UI patterns.
- Android accessibility considerations.
- Material Design principles.
- Understanding how designs translate into actual mobile/tablet application interfaces.
- Ability to work with developers to address
device-specific UI/UX challenges

Tablet-Specific Experience – Preferred
Experience designing applications for enterprise or rugged/tablet devices is highly desirable.
The candidate should understand how to:
- Optimize application layouts for
larger tablet screens
.
- Use available screen real estate effectively.
- Design multi-column, master-detail, split-screen, and expanded layouts where appropriate.
- Adapt navigation and workflows for tablet users.
- Design for both
portrait and landscape
orientations.
- Ensure controls and touch targets are appropriate for tablet usage.
- Maintain consistency when the same application is used across different device sizes.
- Account for device-specific constraints such as hardware buttons, camera/scanner integration, keyboards, or other peripherals where applicable.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Product Managers and Business Analysts to understand business requirements and user needs.
- Collaborate with developers to validate technical feasibility without being responsible for Android coding.
- Work with QA teams to validate UI/UX implementation against approved designs.
- Present designs and prototypes to business and technical stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate design decisions and rationale.
- Manage multiple design activities and prioritize work based on project timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing
enterprise applications for Android tablets
.
- Experience with applications used in field operations, logistics, retail, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, or other enterprise environments.
- Experience designing applications that interact with
device hardware or peripherals
.
- Experience working in
Agile/Scrum
environments.
- Knowledge of WCAG and mobile accessibility standards.
- Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
- Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS and front-end concepts is required.
Android development experience is not required
