Higher Point Carpet Care | Water Restoration & Mold Remediation

Job Description

Higher Point Carpet Care is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our growing carpet cleaning, water restoration, and mold remediation company.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge, comprehensive training, and hands-on experience in water damage restoration, mold remediation, and mitigation services, with the ability to provide technical leadership, manage field crews, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionally.

We are looking for a strong leader who can take ownership of daily operations, hold team members accountable, solve problems, and help maintain the high standards of service our clients expect.

This is not strictly an office or supervisory position. The right candidate must be comfortable working in the field, leading by example, and assisting crews with hands-on restoration and remediation work when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Team Management

  • Oversee and manage all daily company operations, including scheduling, dispatching, field crews, equipment, and project coordination.
  • Supervise, train, and provide leadership to technicians and field supervisors.
  • Assign daily work orders and ensure jobs are properly staffed, organized, and completed on schedule.
  • Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance, and quality of work.
  • Hold team members accountable for following company procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations.
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule, including nights and weekends, to respond to water damage emergencies.
  • Provide hands-on support to on-call technicians during emergency water losses, including delivering, transporting, and setting up drying equipment and assisting with mitigation efforts as needed.

Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency and profitability.

Water Restoration & Mold Remediation

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for water damage restoration, mold remediation, and mitigation projects.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, moisture assessments, and mold evaluations.
  • Develop appropriate scopes of work and ensure proper remediation procedures are followed.
  • Oversee equipment placement, drying procedures, moisture monitoring, containment, and demolition activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable IICRC standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Be willing and able to work hands-on alongside technicians, including removing drywall, demolition of affected materials, water extraction, equipment setup, and remediation work as needed.
  • Troubleshoot challenging job-site conditions and provide guidance to field technicians.
  • Perform on-site moisture inspections using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and other industry-standard equipment to identify water damage, elevated moisture levels, and areas requiring remediation.
  • Actively assist with water mitigation and mold remediation projects, including water extraction, drywall removal, demolition of affected materials, containment setup, equipment placement, and structural drying.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader, working directly alongside the Mitigation Manager and field technicians to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
  • Assist with monitoring drying progress, documenting moisture readings, and determining when affected areas have reached appropriate drying goals.
  • Be willing and available to perform physical fieldwork as needed, rather than functioning solely in a supervisory or administrative capacity.

Project Management & Quality Control

  • Manage projects from initial assessment through completion.
  • Prepare and review estimates, job reports, scopes of work, and project documentation.
  • Conduct job-site visits to ensure work is being completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with property managers, maintenance teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Address customer concerns, callbacks, and quality issues promptly and professionally.

Ensure all projects are properly documented and completed within established timelines and budgets.

*

Business Operations & Leadership

  • Work closely with ownership to improve operational procedures, employee performance, and overall company growth.
  • Manage equipment inventory, maintenance, and supply needs.
  • Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and accountable work environment.
  • Take initiative and make sound operational decisions while keeping ownership informed of important matters.
  • Business Operations & Leadership:
  • Work closely with the Mitigation Manager to coordinate daily operations, manage projects, support field crews, and ensure all departmental goals and objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with the Mitigation Manager to maintain efficient workflows, resolve operational challenges, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company standards.

Maintain open communication and teamwork with the Mitigation Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and overall company success.

*

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in water damage restoration, mold remediation, or the mitigation industry.
  • Previous experience in an operations management, project management, or supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of water mitigation, structural drying, mold remediation, containment, and demolition procedures.
  • Experience conducting moisture and mold inspections.
  • Familiarity with IICRC standards and industry best practices.
  • IICRC certifications such as WRT, ASD, and AMRT are highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience working with property management companies and commercial or multifamily properties is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and assist with fieldwork when needed.
  • Availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours water emergencies.

Must be dependable, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility for daily operations.
