Job description

About this role

Hello Management is seeking a skilled, independent full-stack developer to design, build, improve, and maintain business applications, integrations, and automation solutions.

This is a hands-on development role focused on delivering reliable software, connecting business systems, improving existing functionality, and creating practical AI-enabled workflows. It is not primarily a helpdesk or platform-administration role.

You will collaborate with the Technology Manager and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, testable technical deliverables.

We are looking for someone who can take a defined technical assignment and execute it independently, with strong attention to functionality, reliability, security, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Maintenance

  • Develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and maintain web applications, dashboards, and business reporting tools.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain internal business applications and digital tools that support operational efficiency.
  • Deliver prioritized features and fixes in short Agile cycles, with defined ownership, target timelines, code review, testing, and documented handoff.
  • Use AI-assisted development responsibly, reviewing and testing generated code before delivery.

Systems, Integrations & Automation

  • Implement software integrations and automated workflows based on defined business requirements.
  • Build reliable integrations using supported interfaces, appropriate access controls, and sound data-handling practices.
  • Develop and maintain AI-enabled automations that reduce repetitive work while supporting appropriate oversight, error handling, and accountability.
  • Coordinate with business-system specialists on integrations, shared workflows, and data consistency.

Technical Execution &

Support

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to assigned applications, configurations, and integrations.
  • Test implementations, identify defects, and complete necessary corrections.
  • Maintain organized code, technical documentation, and change records.
  • Follow established development, information-security, access-control, testing, and release procedures.
  • Keep assigned tasks updated on a shared workboard, participate in weekly planning and reviews, and promptly flag blockers, dependencies, or delivery risks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining web applications.
  • Practical experience with modern web development languages, frameworks, and maintainable application architecture.
  • Experience with APIs, authentication, system integrations, and workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with source control, collaborative development, and code-review workflows.
  • Experience with databases, debugging, testing, error handling, data reliability, and troubleshooting live applications.
  • Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools effectively while reviewing and validating generated code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Good written communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience in the following areas is particularly valuable:

  • Full-stack web application development and maintenance.
  • Relational databases, authentication, and secure data access.
  • Cloud hosting, deployment pipelines, and version control.
  • AI-assisted coding and agent-based development methods.
  • Workflow automation and no-code or low-code integrations.
  • Third-party APIs and business-system integrations.
  • Familiarity with AppFolio or similar property-management platforms, including vendor-supported integrations, APIs, and workflow automation, is a plus but not required.

Candidates do not need experience in every area listed but should be comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies.

What We're Looking For

  • Can independently plan and complete assigned technical deliverables, make sensible progress asynchronously, and raise questions before making unsupported assumptions.
  • Has practical experience building and maintaining working solutions, not just generating code.
  • Understands the importance of testing, documentation, and secure development.
  • Can communicate progress, technical limitations, and implementation concerns clearly.
  • Takes ownership of assigned deliverables and follows through to completion.
  • Is adaptable, organized, and interested in using technology and AI to improve business operations.

Scope & Delivery Boundaries

  • Deliver assigned work with clear documentation of completed changes, validation, and outstanding items.
  • Follow company approval processes for sensitive access, system changes, and releases.
  • Coordinate priorities, feedback, and technical decisions with the Technology Manager and relevant specialists.

Working Arrangement

This is a full-time, remote position. Work is coordinated through weekly Agile planning, a shared task board, clear priorities, and review/QA before completion.

Final schedule, compensation, and engagement details will be discussed during the selection process.

Candidates must be available to work a full-time schedule aligned with U.S. Mountain Time (MT) business hours and collaborate with a U.S.-based team. Specific daily hours will be confirmed during hiring.

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • A brief introduction describing your relevant technical experience.
  • Two relevant, anonymized examples of applications, integrations, or automations you personally built or maintained; explain your role, testing approach, and measurable result.
  • Your experience using AI-assisted coding tools responsibly, including how you validate generated code and handle secrets or confidential data.
  • Your full-time compensation expectations, earliest start date, country/time zone, and confirmation that you can work U.S. Mountain Time (MT) business hours.

Our priority is finding a reliable technical professional who can independently deliver quality work and grow with our technology initiatives.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Work from home

Application Question(s):
