- Prescribe medications in accordance with applicable regulations, including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements, and follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy standards.
- Coordinate referrals, case management, discharge planning, patient education, and follow-up with patients, families, and care teams.
- Maintain accurate medical records and support coding, utilization review, infection control, and quality care processes.
Qualifications
- Required credentials and licensure must meet applicable state and practice requirements; ability to work under collaborative practice agreements where required.
- Relevant nursing and advanced practice provider experience; settings may include primary care, urgent or emergency care, hospital medicine, intensive care, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, or post-acute care.
- Useful clinical skills include patient care, anatomy and physiology, medication administration, IV insertion, phlebotomy, catheter care, airway management, and basic life support.
- Experience with EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is valued; familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical terminology is helpful.
- Specialty or setting experience may include gastroenterology, dialysis, hospice and palliative medicine, occupational health, clinical research, telehealth, memory care, or working with children and individuals with disabilities. Additional procedures and experience—such as botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatment, sonography, spinal tap, or trauma care—may be relevant to specific practice needs.
