AI Software Engineer

Job Description

HatchWorks AI is seeking an experienced and innovative AI Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement intelligent software solutions using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and generative AI technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, experience building AI-powered applications, and the ability to integrate advanced AI capabilities into scalable business solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with software engineers, data specialists, and product teams to develop intelligent applications, optimize AI workflows, and deliver practical technology solutions for enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered software applications.
• Build and integrate generative AI and machine learning capabilities.
• Develop applications using large language models and AI frameworks.
• Create backend services and APIs for AI-driven solutions.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows.
• Work with structured and unstructured data sources.
• Evaluate AI model performance, accuracy, and reliability.
• Optimize application scalability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on AI projects.
• Maintain technical documentation and software development standards.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
• Experience with large language models and generative AI.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.
• Understanding of RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience developing REST APIs and backend applications.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software testing and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
