Build your career in personal injury law.
Hartounian, APLC (H.law) is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing plaintiff-side personal injury practice in Glendale. We’re looking for someone who writes clearly, thinks critically, and takes initiative in moving cases forward.
This position offers substantive work across both prelitigation and litigation—from evaluating claims and writing demands to negotiating settlements, preparing discovery, and drafting motions. Your responsibilities will reflect your experience and expand as you demonstrate your abilities.
Newly admitted California attorneys and candidates with 0–3 years of experience are encouraged to apply. Trial experience is not required.
About the firm
H.law is a boutique personal injury firm representing people injured in motor vehicle collisions, premises liability incidents, and other serious accidents. We take our clients’ cases personally, prepare them carefully, and pursue meaningful results.
As our practice grows, we’re looking for an attorney who shares that commitment and wants to contribute to the work that builds a strong case.
What you’ll do
- Develop cases: Review liability, insurance coverage, medical records, treatment, and damages to identify issues and help shape case strategy.
- Write demands: Prepare persuasive settlement demands, including policy-limit demands, supported by the facts, records, and applicable law.
- Negotiate claims: Communicate with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel, evaluate offers, and participate in settlement negotiations.
- Handle litigation drafting: Prepare complaints, pleadings, motions, oppositions, and other substantive legal documents.
- Manage discovery: Draft and respond to written discovery, prepare meet-and-confer correspondence, and assist with discovery motions.
- Prepare for proceedings: Help prepare clients, witnesses, exhibits, and materials for depositions, hearings, and mediations.
- Research and analyze: Address legal and factual issues that affect liability, damages, procedure, and case resolution.
- Keep cases moving: Manage assigned files, track deadlines, coordinate with staff, and maintain clear, timely communication with clients.
What we’re looking for
- Active California Bar membership in good standing.
- 0–3 years of attorney experience. Personal injury or civil litigation experience is helpful, but newly admitted attorneys are welcome.
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Careful attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Professional, effective communication with clients, colleagues, adjusters, and opposing counsel.
- Initiative, accountability, and sound judgment—including knowing when to ask questions.
- A willingness to learn, incorporate feedback, and take increasing responsibility.
- Availability to work full-time, in person, in our Glendale office.
Why join H.law?
You’ll gain experience across the life of a personal injury case and see how your work affects its direction and outcome. This is an opportunity to strengthen your writing, develop negotiation skills, build litigation experience, and become a more capable advocate within a growing boutique practice.
We value preparation, follow-through, thoughtful advocacy, and respectful client service. Strong work and increasing responsibility create opportunities for professional growth.
Compensation
- $100,000–$140,000 annual base salary, based on relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated abilities.
- Performance bonuses in addition to base salary.
