Harris Freeman Location: Moorestown, New Jersey Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Type: Hybrid

Position Overview

Harris Freeman is seeking a results-driven Brand Manager to lead the growth and development of our Tea India and Southern Breeze brands across U.S. retail and e-commerce channels.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded brand professional who combines strategic marketing expertise with hands-on experience in product development, category management, and retail execution.

The Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and executing brand strategies, identifying new product opportunities, analyzing consumer and category trends, and driving initiatives that increase sales, market share, distribution, and profitability.

This role requires a strong understanding of the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry and the ability to translate market insights into compelling products and effective go-to-market strategies.

Working closely with sales, product development, creative, supply chain, finance, and e-commerce teams, the successful candidate will help strengthen each brand's market position while ensuring that products, packaging, messaging, and retail execution align with the needs of target consumers and customers.

The ideal candidate is a proactive brand leader who combines analytical thinking, creativity, commercial acumen, and a passion for building consumer brands.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Marketing

· Develop and execute comprehensive brand strategies and annual marketing plans for Tea India and Southern Breeze, establishing distinct positioning and messaging for each brand.

· Identify target consumers, consumption occasions, and market opportunities to strengthen brand relevance and differentiation.

· Develop annual marketing calendars encompassing product launches, promotional campaigns, seasonal opportunities, and consumer engagement initiatives.

· Partner with the Creative Director and marketing team to ensure brand messaging, packaging, and marketing materials align with established visual identity standards.

· Monitor brand performance, consumer trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

New Product Development & Innovation

· Lead the new product development (NPD) process from consumer insight and concept development through commercialization and launch.

· Identify opportunities for new products, flavors, formats, packaging, and line extensions based on consumer preferences, category trends, and competitive analysis.

· Develop business cases, assess commercial opportunities, and support product prioritization based on anticipated demand, profitability, and strategic fit.

· Collaborate with research and development, supply chain, finance, regulatory, sales, and packaging teams to advance product concepts through established stage-gate processes.

· Develop product launch strategies, including positioning, pricing recommendations, packaging, promotional support, and go-to-market execution.

· Evaluate post-launch performance and recommend improvements based on sales results, consumer feedback, distribution, and profitability.

Category Management & Market Intelligence

· Serve as the internal expert on the tea and beverage categories in which the two brands compete.

· Analyze syndicated market data, consumer insights, category trends, pricing, market share, distribution, and competitor performance.

· Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations for product assortment, pricing, promotional strategies, and brand positioning.

· Identify emerging consumer preferences, unmet needs, and opportunities to expand brand reach and improve competitiveness.

· Prepare brand performance updates and recommendations for management, supported by relevant market and business data.

Retail Marketing & Merchandising

· Partner with sales and key account management teams to develop customer-specific brand strategies and retail growth initiatives.

· Support retailer presentations, category reviews, promotional planning, merchandising programs, displays, and planogram recommendations.

· Identify opportunities to improve product visibility, shelf placement, assortment, and shopper engagement.

· Understand retailer requirements, category economics, and purchasing dynamics to support effective customer negotiations and commercial planning.

· Develop marketing programs that support distribution growth, trial, repeat purchases, and overall brand performance.

E-Commerce & Digital Marketing

· Lead the development and maintenance of compelling brand content across retailer websites, online marketplaces, and other relevant digital sales channels.

· Ensure product listings, descriptions, imagery, and promotional content accurately communicate product benefits and brand positioning.

· Partner with creative and e-commerce teams to improve online product presentation, discoverability, and conversion.

· Identify opportunities to strengthen digital merchandising and align online brand execution with retail marketing initiatives.

· Monitor relevant digital performance indicators and recommend improvements to enhance online sales and consumer engagement.

· Commercial & Financial Performance

· Contribute to brand P&L management, with a focus on sales growth, volume, gross margin, market share, and profitability.

· Develop and monitor brand budgets, marketing expenditures, and promotional investments in partnership with finance and sales.

· Evaluate pricing, product mix, promotional effectiveness, and distribution opportunities to support profitable growth.

· Establish measurable objectives for brand initiatives and track performance against business plans.

· Communicate results, opportunities, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

· 5–8 years of progressive experience in brand management, product marketing, or consumer marketing.

· At least 2 years of demonstrated responsibility for managing a consumer brand, brand portfolio, or significant commercial business objectives.

· Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, preferably in food, beverage, tea, coffee, or related consumer products.

· Proven experience leading new product development initiatives from concept through launch and commercialization.

· Working knowledge of retail merchandising, shopper marketing, category management, and retailer business requirements.

· Experience developing brand strategies, annual marketing plans, product positioning, and go-to-market initiatives.

· Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, retailer product listings, digital merchandising, and online brand content.
