What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and coordinate process equipment packages, including scopes, datasheets, drawings and procurement specifications, for purchase inquiries.
- Establish equipment design criteria from project scope, specifications and process requirements.
- Support technical bid evaluations and recommend suppliers based on technical compliance, cost and schedule.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for equipment vendors from inquiry through fabrication and delivery.
- Review vendor drawings, fabrication drawings and construction submittals for conformance to specifications.
- Coordinate with process, piping, structural, electrical and instrumentation teams to keep equipment information flowing on schedule.
- Produce design calculations, conceptual layouts, cost studies and estimate-level material take-offs.
- Provide field support during construction and on-site assistance during startup.
- Estimate and track engineering hours, and mentor less experienced engineers and designers.
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience on process or manufacturing projects.
- Experience developing equipment specifications and procurement packages.
- Knowledge of design standards, codes and good practices for selecting and specifying process equipment.
- Experience with complex process and utility systems, including HVAC (airside and waterside) design.
- Ability to develop cost estimates, schedules and man-hour budgets for a small project or an area of a larger project.
- Working knowledge of other disciplines' deliverables and CAD drafting standards.
- Ability to lead a small team and support interoffice, cross-divisional work sharing.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, plus proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:
