Harbor is seeking a Marketing Communications Designer to join the Toledo team! This position plays a key role in developing, designing, and executing visual and written content that supports Harbor’s brand identity and communication strategy.
This position creates marketing materials, digital assets, and multimedia campaigns that effectively communicate Harbor’s mission, programs, and services to both internal and external audiences.
*Position is full\-time, 40 hours per week. *
**REQUIREMENTS**
**Education:**
- Bachelor’s degree Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Communications/Public Relations, Marketing, or related field from an accredited college or university.
**Experience:**
- Experience supporting Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Communications/Public Relations, Marketing as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree: minimum of 2\-4 year of relevant experience.
**Licensure and Certifications (if applicable)**:
- Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Must be able to demonstrate experience and a proven successful track record in Marketing.
- Must have outstanding writing and communication abilities and demonstrate organizational and motivational skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of social media platforms that include design and implementation.
- Must present an image that is consistent with Harbor’s brand.
- Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Adobe Creative Suite for video and graphic designs.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:**
- Ensures Harbor’s brand identity, design standards, and messaging remain consistent and up to date across all locations, departments, and communication platforms; oversees the application of branding guidelines in both print and digital materials
- Develops visually engaging materials that align with Harbor’s brand identity, including brochures, digital graphics, infographics, presentations, advertisements, and internal communications.
- Creates branded materials, visual communications, and campaign assets to support Harbor’s grants, community programs, and special projects, ensuring compliance with funding and branding requirements.
- Designs and produces multimedia content —including photography, videography, and graphic assets—for social media, web, and digital campaigns, ensuring consistency across all channels.
- Produces and edits Harbor’s internal podcast, coordinating recording sessions, developing visual assets, and ensuring professional\-quality audio and video that reflect Harbor’s values and culture.
- Assists with the design, layout, and updates of Harbor’s external website and social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn), optimizing for usability, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Designs and schedules branded social media content, ensuring posts are visually cohesive, relevant, and aligned with communication goals and engagement metrics.
- Translates behavioral health concepts into clear, compelling visuals and narratives that connect with diverse audiences, including clients, partners, and the community.
- Plans, captures, and edits photo and video content for campaigns, promotional materials, and special events.
- Manages multiple creative projects from concept to delivery, coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
- Provides creative design support for fundraisers, outreach initiatives, recruitment efforts, and community events.
- Stays informed on design, branding, and communication trends—particularly within the healthcare and nonprofit sectors—to continuously enhance Harbor’s visual presence.
- Demonstrates continued growth in design software, visual communication strategies, and emerging marketing technologies to strengthen organizational communication efforts.
