About this role

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer / Technical Lead

Company: Zolara Care

Location: Remote

Job type: Full time

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, plus performance based bonuses

About the opportunity

Zolara Care develops software that helps clinics manage their operations and deliver better patient experiences. We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who can take technical ownership, contribute directly to development, solve complex problems, and provide practical leadership to our development team.

This is a hands on, full time role with meaningful responsibility. You will work closely with company leadership and help ensure our software is reliable, secure, maintainable, and ready for continued growth.

We value sound engineering judgment, clear communication, and the ability to follow through from identifying a problem to delivering a verified solution.

What you’ll do

  • Take technical ownership: Understand the application, evaluate priorities, and turn business needs into clear, achievable engineering work.
  • Build and improve software: Contribute across the backend and frontend, with particular attention to reliability, performance, data accuracy, and maintainability.
  • Solve problems thoroughly: Investigate complex issues, identify their root causes, and verify that changes work across the complete user experience.
  • Review code and validate changes: Provide thoughtful code reviews, strengthen testing, and help ensure releases meet appropriate quality standards.
  • Support dependable operations: Help maintain reliable development, testing, and production environments, including deployments, monitoring, and recovery procedures.
  • Guide the development team: Mentor developers, clarify technical requirements, and provide practical feedback that improves the quality of their work.
  • Maintain useful documentation: Record technical decisions, setup procedures, and operational knowledge so the team can work effectively.
  • Communicate clearly: Explain progress, priorities, tradeoffs, and risks to company leadership in straightforward language.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven professional experience developing and maintaining production web applications at a senior level.
  • Strong hands on backend engineering skills and experience working across modern frontend applications.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, relational databases, data integrity, authentication, and access controls.
  • Experience with cloud environments, version control, automated testing, and software deployment.
  • Strong debugging skills and the ability to assess unfamiliar code independently.
  • Experience reviewing code and providing technical guidance while remaining actively involved in development.
  • Good judgment about when to improve existing code, when to simplify it, and how to make changes safely.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, dependable follow-through, and the ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Experience that would be especially valuable

  • Supporting and improving an established SaaS product.
  • Working on healthcare or business software where accuracy, reliability, and data security are essential.
  • Providing technical leadership within a small engineering team.
  • Translating business priorities into focused, manageable development work.

What you can expect

  • A remote, full-time role with direct access to company leadership.
  • Meaningful responsibility for software quality and technical delivery.
  • Input into technical priorities and engineering decisions.
  • Competitive salary based on your experience and capabilities.
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to agreed goals and results.
  • The opportunity to make a visible contribution to the quality and growth of Zolara Care.

How to apply

Apply through Indeed with your résumé and a brief introduction describing:

  • A production application you helped build or maintain and your personal responsibilities.
  • A challenging technical problem you solved and how you verified the outcome.
  • Your experience reviewing code or guiding other developers.
  • Your time zone, availability for full time work, and earliest start date.

You may include a portfolio, public code samples, or project summaries that you are authorized to share.

Our selection process

Shortlisted candidates will participate in a technical interview. Finalists will be invited to complete a short, paid practical assessment followed by a walkthrough of their approach.
