Gas Turbine Software Engineer

We are seeking a Gas Turbine Control Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support control software for gas turbine and power generation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial controls, DCS/PLC systems, control logic, software development, and automation, with direct gas turbine experience preferred.

This role involves working closely with engineering, project management, customers, and field\-service teams to develop control solutions from engineering design through testing, commissioning, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain control software for gas turbine and power generation systems.
• Translate customer requirements, P\&IDs, process narratives, and control diagrams into DCS/PLC control logic and HMI functionality.
• Develop and modify control logic, sequencing, monitoring, alarms, and operator interfaces.
• Support turbine performance, efficiency, startup, shutdown, and protection control algorithms.
• Participate in software and control\-system design reviews with customers, project managers, and engineering teams.
• Develop and execute software validation and functional testing.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including testing with simulation or closed\-loop environments.
• Troubleshoot control\-system and software issues and identify root causes.
• Support equipment commissioning, startup, field testing, and customer troubleshooting.
• Work with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and project engineering teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and field\-service personnel when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5\+ years of experience in controls engineering, control software, industrial automation, or related engineering.
• Strong understanding of control systems, automation, and control theory.
• Experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, or SCADA systems.
• Experience developing or modifying industrial control logic.
• Experience with PID/control algorithms, sequencing, interlocks, alarms, and instrumentation.
• Programming experience in one or more of C, C\+\+, Python, MATLAB, or similar languages.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret P\&IDs, control diagrams, and engineering specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering, customers, and cross\-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with gas turbine controls or turbine control systems.
• Experience with gas turbine governor/control systems.
• Experience with turbine startup and shutdown algorithms.
• Experience with hydraulic valve positioners, servo systems, LVDTs, or related turbine instrumentation.
• Experience with hydraulic trip and overspeed protection systems.
• Experience with turbine vibration monitoring systems.
• Experience with lube oil, control oil, turning gear, or related turbine auxiliary systems.
• Experience with gas turbine simulation and closed\-loop testing.
• Experience with FAT, commissioning, startup, and field support.
• Experience in power generation, energy, or industrial automation.
• Familiarity with SAMA diagrams and control\-system design methodologies.
• Willingness to travel for customer support, commissioning, or testing as required.

Pay: $55\. 00 \- $80\. 00 per hour
