Job description

Lead UI/UX Designer

About GuROO:

At GuROO our mission is to deliver Enterprise Network Engineering, Enterprise IT, Program Management, and Project Management support to large commercial corporations, government agencies, and government-contracted agencies within the Washington, DC metropolitan area and beyond.

We have an innovative approach to helping our customers discover, evaluate, implement, and manage advanced technology projects to enhance our clients needs.

Candidates are expected to have a strong work ethic and possess the ability to work as a critical member of a team in pursuit of mission objectives and in the support of our customers. We value candidates who are detail-oriented while also being able to think and react quickly to emerging and unique problem sets.

To be successful in this role, you'll be able to rapidly adapt and learn how to operate the front and back end of new products and processes.

Responsibilities & Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Experience in user-interface app development/design, generating mockups in powerapps or via graphic design software
  • Experience with vector-based graphics and utilization of vector graphics via XML/HTML programming
  • Ability to build prototypes, especially UI/UX elements in a powerapps component (i.e. a “component” in powerapps is reusable code that can be easily customized)
  • Ability to build various individual design elements (buttons, boxes, animation sequences, app themes/styles)
  • Advanced Power Platform Experience
  • Power Automate – Building custom flows, especially in a constrained environment where premium licenses and/or API connections aren’t readily available
  • PowerApps – Advanced knowledge creating custom components, custom applications using manual layouts, gallery layouts, etc,
  • Data side, handling data from dataverse/sharepoint, or ingesting data from spreadsheets to leverage in an app
  • UI/UX side, leveraging powerapps components and html to create custom interfaces and behaviors/attributes vs using the stock powerapps catalog
  • Experience with powerapps CLI, or similar experience managing an application development pipeline (e.g. someone who knows how to move things from a sandbox to production, and how to maintain version control)
  • PowerBI – Lower priority, but nice if they have experience. I’m assuming anyone who knows their way around powerapps can breeze through stuff in powerBI or make their own solution in powerapps that exceeds what powerBI can do.
  • Programming Language experience
  • JSON – Used frequently in our powerapps builds to collect a large volume of data and contain it in a small space
  • HTML – Web design HTML and HTML controls within a powerapps environment (e.g. buttons, animations, conditional behaviors)
  • CSS – Especially in-line CSS or CSS in a constrained environment
  • Documentation / Testing
  • Document requirements and their status (started, not started, complete)
  • Conduct preliminary user-testing/functional-testing/regression testing, and document findings and tracking until completion
