Job description

About this role

At Bayside Sod, we’re a fifth-generation family farm dedicated to delivering top-quality sod with the kind of quality we’d want for our own families—serving everyone from major home builders to DIY homeowners and sports facilities.

Our mission is simple: create meaningful work in a growth-driven, people-first environment where every voice matters, continuous improvement is a way of life, and caring for each other is non-negotiable. If you thrive in a fast-paced, flexible culture that values results, learning, and genuine connection, you’ll feel right at home here.

Bayside Sod is looking to add a Controller to our growing team.

Job Overview

As our Controller, you will take full ownership of the finance function at a fast-growing company that has outgrown its spreadsheets, turning reports into clean, reliable numbers that leadership can use to make decisions. You will build the processes that make our books accurate and ready for outside review, while also running point on payroll, HR administration, and select related admin needs of a growing business.

The ideal candidate for this position has owned the finance department at a $20M+ company, brings real job costing experience, and has worked in a business with multiple departments, customer types, and payment processes.

This position is for you if you are detail-oriented enough to spot when a number looks off, comfortable making decisions independently, and you care about the people behind the numbers as much as the numbers themselves.
