**Position Summary**
GroundWork’s Systems Engineering team turns project requirements into the MET stations, Module Monitors, and hail monitoring systems that measure what utility\-scale solar plants actually experience. As a Systems Engineer II, you will take design packages from configuration through construction and Manufacturing drawing sets using various Autodesk tools. Also, working alongside various internal and external Stakeholders (i.
e. Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Field). The data these systems collect feeds energy yield models and financing decisions, so drawing accuracy and build quality matter.
You will work independently on defined scopes, with review and mentorship from senior engineers.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Translate project requirements into construction and Manufacturing drawing packages to GroundWork design standards, using AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Inventor to create 30%, 60%, 90%, IFC, and As\-Built drawings.
- Review client specifications for feasibility and flag gaps early, in technical meetings and document reviews.
- Gather requirements from Sales, Project Management, and Field, and coordinate design changes with internal teams and external partners.
- Support the Burbank manufacturing team through assembly and testing, resolve build issues, and feed lessons back into the design.
- Own defined portions of larger projects and ensure customer requirements are met.
- Perform peer reviews of drawings and project documentation before release to clients or Manufacturing.
**Qualifications \& Experience**
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5\+ years of professional experience in the Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD MEP, Inventor).
- Ability to build detailed design packages that account for manufacturability, installation, and long\-term field reliability.
- Strong written and verbal communication, sound problem\-solving, and the ability to work independently in a distributed team.
Preferred
- Experience with meteorological measurement systems for solar resource assessment and monitoring, ideally on utility\-scale projects.
- Hands\-on experience with solar measurement hardware: pyranometers, all\-in\-one weather stations, wind and hail sensors, back\-of\-module temperature sensors (TBOMs), soiling stations, and data loggers.
- Experience in bench, laboratory, or field testing environments.
- Bluebeam or other engineering review and markup software.
**Travel:** Up to 20% to GroundWork offices and project sites
