GMPC is a private label apparel and accessories manufacturer and product development company that works for top brands and retailers. From our offices in New York and Los Angeles, we take products from first sketch to finished goods for brands that you know and love.

We're looking for a highly creative, experienced Accessory Designer with a deep graphic background to join our New York team. You'll design hats, cold weather, casual bags, and apparel, spotting what's next and translating it into product this is right for each of our customers. Customers include Disney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, Guess, Universal and Bass Pro.

What You'll Do

  • Hunt for trends across street style, social, runway, travel, and pop culture, then adapt them for each of our brand partners
  • Create standout graphics for headwear, cold weather, bags, and apparel.
  • Build trend and POV boards, CADs, and presentations that get customers excited
  • Work directly with customers and help shape seasonal lines from concept through production
  • Bring licensed character artwork to life within brand guidelines
  • Develop clear, accurate tech packs
  • Collaborate with merchandising, sales, and production to solve cost and construction challenges

What You Bring

  • 5+ years designing accessories (headwear, cold weather, and/or bags), with a portfolio to prove it
  • Exceptional mastery of the Adobe suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop, with real speed and precision
  • A strong graphic design foundation and a sophisticated sense of color, print, and pattern
  • Proven ability to spot trends early and translate them for different brands and audiences
  • Experience with licensed character brands (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Warner Bros., and similar) is a major plus
  • Working knowledge of decoration techniques such as embroidery, screen print, sublimation, appliqué, patches, and heat transfer
  • Technical understanding of knit, woven, and cut and sew accessory construction, plus bag construction
  • Resort apparel experience is a bonus
  • 3D design skills (CLO 3D or similar) are a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent experience
  • Thrives in a fast moving, collaborative environment and can juggle multiple seasons at once
