In this role, you will lead the design and development of complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety codes.

Your expertise will drive the creation of reliable, efficient, and scalable electrical solutions for a variety of industrial applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, utilizing advanced engineering tools and methodologies to shape the future of electrical systems.

Duties

  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, circuit designs, and system architectures using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation.
  • Design PCB layouts incorporating surface mount technology (SMT) components and ensure manufacturability in collaboration with PCB fabrication teams.
  • Lead system development verification through simulation tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and SystemVerilog to validate performance and functionality.
  • Perform root cause analysis on electrical system failures, troubleshooting issues with oscilloscopes, multimeters (Ohmmeters), and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate FPGA-based solutions, SoC (System on Chip) components, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) into larger systems.
  • Ensure all designs meet electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance, and industry safety standards including NFPA 70E for electrical safety.
  • Conduct engineering testing, debugging, and validation of electrical systems and circuits to guarantee performance reliability.
  • Support manufacturing processes by providing detailed electrical schematics, assembly instructions, and quality assurance checks.
  • Utilize scripting languages like Python and Perl for automation tasks and system development verification.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge in conjunction with electrical design to optimize integration within mechanical enclosures using Revit or SolidWorks.
  • Maintain project schedules through effective project planning and coordination to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical documentation preparation, and client presentations to communicate project progress clearly.

Experience

  • Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role focused on electronics design and system development.
  • Extensive background in electrical systems design including circuit design, PCB layout, firmware development, and control systems integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, SystemVerilog for hardware description language modeling, and CAD software like AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA programming, SoC integration, microcontrollers such as ARM or Arduino platforms, and firmware development using C++, Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing oscilloscopes, multimeters (Ohmmeters), vision inspection systems, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation protocols, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control systems engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, mechanical assembly integration using CAD tools like SolidWorks or Mechanical Desktop software.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards including NFPA 70E compliance and NEC regulations applicable to industrial environments.
