Senior Corporate Accountant

Salary: $100K to $115K base, 10% target bonus

Hybrid: WFH Fridays

SUMMARY

Our client, a highly respected commercial real estate firm in Northern New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure the accurate, timely recording and reporting of financial transactions. This role focuses on maintaining corporate ledgers, supporting regulatory reporting, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly expense accruals, payroll, and benefits accounting, coordinating with department heads to capture all period-end adjustments.
• Maintain prepaid schedules, equity-based compensation logs, and asset/liability roll-forwards.
• Support accounting for corporate transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and debt management.
• Prepare data and supporting schedules for corporate financial statements, disclosures, and cash flow reporting.
• Perform variance analysis, monitor debt covenants, and maintain strong internal controls.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors by providing requested documentation and schedules.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and leverage technology to make financial processes more efficient.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting practices with advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience in public accounting is preferred
• Industry experience in commercial real estate, property management, or multi-unit corporate environments is preferred.
• Active CPA license or progress toward obtaining licensure is preferred.
