About this role
Job Summary
Pro 2 Tow is seeking an experienced, dependable Operations Manager / Lead Tow Truck Driver to help oversee the daily operations of our growing towing and roadside assistance company.
This is a hands-on leadership position, not a desk-only management role.
We need someone who can help manage drivers, answer and dispatch calls, handle customer and account issues, make operational decisions, and operate a tow truck when needed.
The ideal candidate will already understand the towing industry and be capable of becoming a trusted second-in-command who can help keep operations running smoothly without constant supervision.
Schedule
This position is primarily daytime, with most driving and operational responsibilities taking place during the day.
We strongly prefer someone who can also provide phone and dispatch availability between approximately 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM daily, including handling important customer calls, driver issues, dispatch needs, and operational situations as necessary.
This does not mean being physically on-site for the entire 6:00 AM–10:00 PM period. The position requires dependable availability and responsiveness outside normal daytime hours when needed.
Exact scheduling and on-call responsibilities can be discussed based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming towing, roadside assistance, and customer-service calls
- Dispatch calls and coordinate drivers throughout the day
- Monitor driver ETAs, job progress, and service quality
- Operate a tow truck and perform towing or roadside assistance when needed
- Coordinate driver schedules and coverage
- Assist with private-property towing and impound operations
- Communicate with motor clubs, property managers, police agencies, customers, and business accounts
- Handle customer concerns and difficult situations professionally
- Make operational decisions when ownership is unavailable
- Supervise, train, and hold drivers accountable
- Help maintain company service standards and procedures
- Monitor trucks, equipment, and operational readiness
- Ensure jobs are properly documented and completed
- Help maintain relationships with company accounts
- Identify and resolve operational problems quickly
- Keep ownership informed of significant daily issues
- Help keep the business running efficiently without constant direction

- Capable of making decisions independently
- A strong problem solver
- Professional and calm under pressure
- Comfortable using smartphones, dispatch software, and basic computer systems
- Able to lead drivers and maintain accountability
- Willing to take ownership of daily operations instead of waiting for instructions
Previous towing-industry management, dispatch, lead-driver, or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Driver Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record
- Tow truck operating experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of safe towing and roadside procedures
- Ability to meet applicable insurance and background requirements
