We are currently seeking an experienced Manager of IT to provide technical leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Information Systems department.

Pay Range: $91,640.44-$137,460.66 annually

Position Details

  • Schedule: Full-Time
  • On-Call: Approximately one week per month

Position Summary

The Manager of IT is responsible for the day-to-day management, support, maintenance, and optimization of Gateway Regional Medical Center's information technology environment.

This position provides technical leadership and operational support for hardware, software, network systems, telecommunications, servers, applications, and end-user technology throughout the hospital and affiliated locations.

The Manager of IT works closely with hospital departments, vendors, and employees to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services that support clinical operations, patient care, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.

We are looking for an experienced IT professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and supporting both technical teams and non-technical end users.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, and relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, systems administration, systems analysis, network administration, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Healthcare information technology experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting complex healthcare technology environments preferred.
  • Relevant IT certifications are preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required if travel between hospital or affiliated locations is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations and support of the hospital's information technology environment.
  • Provide technical support for computers, workstations, servers, network equipment, telecommunications systems, applications, and related technology.
  • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware, software, operating systems, applications, and network resources.
  • Monitor system performance and availability to promote system reliability and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, network, application, and connectivity issues.
  • Support LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless systems, telecommunications, and related technology.
  • Assist with system updates, patches, upgrades, implementations, testing, and maintenance.
  • Maintain system, configuration, troubleshooting, and technology documentation.
  • Support information security, access controls, system protections, and technology safeguards.
  • Participate in downtime, disaster recovery, business continuity, emergency preparedness, and security activities.
  • Support hospital information systems and applications used by clinical, financial, administrative, and operational departments.
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve system and application issues.
  • Evaluate technology needs and recommend appropriate equipment, applications, systems, and technology solutions.
  • Provide technical support during system implementations, upgrades, conversions, and other technology projects.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, supervision, and support to Information Systems staff.
  • Assign, prioritize, and review work to ensure timely completion and appropriate service levels.
  • Provide coaching, training, feedback, and performance management.
  • Participate in interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, and development of Information Systems employees.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and excellent customer service.
  • Assist with departmental planning, workflow improvement, staffing, and operational priorities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and education to employees regarding hardware, software, applications, and technology resources.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Participate in short- and long-term technology planning and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, efficiency, security, workflow, and user experience.
  • Coordinate activities with outside vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technology and recommend improvements when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, financial, and organizational information.
  • Participate in the Information Systems on-call rotation, approximately one week per month.
