Job description

About this role

FORTIS Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for a W-2 employee position with a phased transition to full-time hours. This role serves pediatric and adult patients through a combination of in-person and telehealth appointments in both our Lumberton and Fayetteville offices.

The position currently focuses on follow-up visits for established patients, routine medication refills, and ongoing medication monitoring. Initial psychiatric evaluations are not included at this time.

Responsibilities include reviewing symptoms and functioning, assessing medication effectiveness and tolerability, evaluating safety, continuing or adjusting treatment as clinically appropriate, coordinating care, and completing accurate, timely clinical documentation.

We are looking for a thoughtful, clinically curious provider who is interested in the role of pharmacogenetic testing in psychiatric medication management. Candidates should also value the use of subjective reports and objective measures to inform diagnostic assessment and ongoing treatment, particularly for ADHD in pediatric and adult patients.

Applicants must hold current PMHNP-BC certification and the licensure and authorization required to practice in North Carolina. A valid DEA registration is required. An updated CAQH is required.

Collaborative MD will be provided by FORTIS.

Active North Carolina Medicaid enrollment and credentialing are preferred at the time of application. Existing commercial insurance credentialing is also preferred, particularly with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. Credentialing with additional commercial plans is also welcome.

Candidates must be comfortable treating children, adolescents, and adults and available for both in-person and telehealth appointments. Strong clinical judgment, psychopharmacology knowledge, clear communication, and accurate documentation are essential.

A signed nondisclosure and non compete agreement is required.

To apply, submit your résumé or CV through Indeed. Include your current NC Medicaid enrollment and credentialing status, participating Medicaid and commercial insurance plans, confirmation of valid DEA registration and an existing collaborating MD arrangement, experience with pediatric and adult medication management, and availability to transition into a full-time schedule.
