Job Overview

Florida Sign Company is hiring an Operations Manager who can grow sales and run the work that follows. You will drive new business and quote follow-up, lead the team, and manage sign projects from first customer contact through permitting, fabrication, installation and final invoicing. Your bonus depends on hitting our sales goals.

This role carries no financial responsibility, financial decision-making or oversight of bill payments.

Sales and Customer Growth

• Drive sales: generate and pursue opportunities with commercial, retail, general contractor and property-management customers, and keep existing accounts growing.
• Work every inquiry from first contact through quote, follow up on every outstanding quote so no job sits without a next step, and close business.
• Record bid requests, quotes, customer contacts and win/loss results in one tracking system, so customer and bid knowledge stays with the company.
• Resolve customer concerns and handle service calls for damaged or non-working signs.

Operations and Project Management

• Lead and supervise shop, install and office team members; set priorities, coach employees, manage performance and shift coverage, and support recruiting and training.
• Take assigned jobs from intake through permitting, fabrication, installation and close-out, using Casper and Monday.com to track work.
• Permitting and approvals: check jobs against local codes, prepare permit packages, work with municipalities and inspectors, obtain customer and brand-standard approvals, and track applications to approval.
• Work-in-progress management: keep clear visibility into what is fabricated, pending or stuck.
• Schedule fabrication and installation, and run the crew calendar.
• Request materials and vendor bids, submitted to management for approval; prepare bid packages and follow up on vendor deliverables.
• Final invoicing handoff: close out completed jobs so they are ready to bill without delay.
• Maintain basic operational and sales reporting on jobs in progress, schedules, quotes and pipeline.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sign, construction or fabrication project management or sales, with leadership or supervisory experience.
• A track record of winning and growing business; comfortable with sales goals and bonus-based pay.
• Ability to read architectural and construction drawings; familiarity with sign materials, fabrication and municipal permitting.
• A record of building process where none exists: SOPs, accountability systems and status tracking people actually use.
• Comfortable owning a schedule and holding crews and vendors accountable to it.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer service, phone and organizational skills, with good time management.

Preferred

• Knowledge of Casper production tracking and Monday.com workflow management.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting, such as job costing and invoicing. This is for understanding the numbers; the role has no financial authority.
• Familiarity with zoning and ADA signage rules.
• Layout or design-software skills (CorelDRAW, Adobe) and Microsoft Office. Design experience is a plus, not a requirement.

Compensation: $65,000 per year salary, plus a bonus based on meeting company sales goals.
