About the Position

We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with small businesses, takes pride in producing accurate work, and is comfortable communicating with clients. We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, eager to learn, and enjoys being part of a supportive team.

This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in both accounting and taxation while developing skills that can lead to greater responsibilities and career advancement within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements for small business clients.
• Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and identify discrepancies.
• Prepare individual and business tax returns.
• Assist with year-end accounting and tax preparation.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve questions, and provide support.
• Identify opportunities to improve clients' accounting processes and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality work.
• Assist with financial analysis, budgeting, and advisory projects as experience develops.

Qualifications

• Experience in small business accounting and general ledger management with multiple clients in an accounting firm.
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
• CPA or EA designation, or progress toward certification, is a plus.
