About Five Star Claims Adjusting
Five Star Claims Adjusting is a leading public adjusting firm representing policyholders on residential and commercial property damage claims. In nearly two decades, Five Star has recovered more than $1 billion for over 60,000 clients. Five Star is part of TruCore Holdings (https://trucoreholdings.us), a national public adjusting platform built by AAVIN Private Equity and Konkordia Capital.
TruCore is expanding Five Star's commercial footprint into new markets across the United States.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Representative to drive new claim origination for Five Star. You will develop relationships with commercial property owners, REITs, property managers, facility directors, insurance brokers, and contractors. You will help them with the underpaid, denied, and unfiled property damage claims sitting in their portfolios.
This is not a desk job. The work is weighted toward travel and in-person business development: meetings, property walks, industry events, CAT deployments when storms hit, and fire response in your local market. Cold calling is one tool among many.
The role is based in-market and is not remote. It runs with a high degree of autonomy and carries a clear path to senior business development and territory leadership as Five Star grows.
Fire Response
A material portion of this role, especially early on, involves responding to fires. You will monitor fire activity in the area where you live and pick the losses you believe could become attractive public adjusting work. You will then go onsite to those properties to meet owners and solicit the claim, often within hours of the event.
Candidates should be comfortable working unpredictable hours and meeting property owners at a difficult moment.
You do not need to know how to do this on day one. We will train you on how to evaluate fire losses, how to approach owners onsite, and the state rules governing solicitation after a loss. We will also provide the tools and infrastructure needed to monitor fires and choose the right ones.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own commercial business development territories and referral relationships, including property owners, REITs, property managers, insurance brokers, and contractors (e.g. EMS, roofing)
- Sell at the C-suite level to sophisticated owners, REITs, and management companies
- Identify and sign underpaid, denied, and unfiled property damage claims
- Monitor local fire activity, select promising losses, and go onsite to meet property owners and sign claims
- Travel frequently for in-person meetings, property walks, and industry conferences
- Deploy to CAT events when storms hit (hail, wind, hurricane)
- Cold call and prospect to open relationships where none exist today
- Hand signed claims to an estimating and claims team that works the file
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, and pipeline in a CRM
- Represent Five Star at trade shows and industry events
- Work with our commercial management and C-suite teams to improve the commercial division and its sales processes
- Support Five Star's expansion into new commercial markets and territories
- Assist with market research, lead generation, and targeted outreach campaigns
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 2 years' business development experience selling into commercial property end markets: commercial property owners and managers, commercial roofing, restoration/EMS, or public adjusting
- Track record of generating high-dollar sales in such end markets
- Established relationships in commercial property, construction, or insurance
- Comfortable selling to C-suite executives at large organizations (REITs and large property owners and managers)
- Comfortable responding to fire losses onsite, on short notice, including evenings and weekends
- Licensed Public Adjuster or ready and able to get licensed in multiple states
- Willing to travel extensively, including CAT deployments
- Experience with CRM systems and tracking sales outreach
- Fluent in English with strong verbal communication skills
Desired Character Traits
- Highly organized, with strong discipline
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable with rejection
- Works independently: builds their own pipeline and runs their own calendar
- Would rather be in the field and in front of people than behind a desk
- Credible with executives in commercial real estate, roofing, and construction
- Wants room to grow into senior business development and territory leadership
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary plus commissions. This is a commission-driven role, and we expect the majority of on-target earnings to come from commissions.
- Commissions on every claim you generate and sign, with no cap on earnings
- Training on fire monitoring, loss selection, and onsite solicitation, plus the tools to do it
- Travel and expenses (T&E) covered
- Multi-state licensing supported
Pay: $100,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Professional development assistance
Experience:
- B2B sales: 2 years (Preferred)

- English (Preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 50% (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
