Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist specializing in hand therapy to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide expert assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients with hand and upper extremity conditions across various settings.

Your expertise will help patients regain function, improve mobility, and enhance their quality of life through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse populations, including pediatrics, adults, and seniors, utilizing your specialized skills in hand therapy and occupational rehabilitation.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments focused on hand and upper extremity function, physiology, and anatomy to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Implement targeted occupational therapy programs aimed at restoring strength, dexterity, and range of motion for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and self-care to promote independence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, physicians, and case managers to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Develop and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing clinical evaluations, patient progress, and evidence-based practices.
• Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with clinical standards and medical terminology.
• Support discharge planning by preparing patients for post-acute care settings or home environments through education and adaptive strategies.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist with specialization or experience in hand therapy.
• Demonstrated experience working with individuals with Orthopedic conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or post-surgical rehabilitation needs.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to upper extremity conditions.
• Proven ability to develop treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practice tailored to pediatric, adult, or geriatric populations.
• Experience working in inpatient and/or outpatient clinics with hand therapy emphasis.
• Familiarity with occupational therapy assessments specific to Orthopedics and hand/UE conditions, and orthosis/splinting fabrication.
• Excellent client communication skills combined with clinical interprofessional collaboration abilities.

Pay: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
