About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e. g.
H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Jersey Cityto support a project in the financiasector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 motnhsbut may be extended.
This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Overview
------------
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a high-performing technology team responsible for maintaining reliable, scalable, and resilient platforms. This role will focus on infrastructure stability, automation, cloud operations, observability, and continuous improvement of application and platform performance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Linux background, hands-on experience with cloud technologies, and the ability to develop automation solutions using Python and infrastructure management tools.
Responsibilities
--------------------
- Manage and support mission-critical production environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using observability and monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, application, and performance issues.
- Partner with development and engineering teams to improve platform reliability and scalability.
- Support cloud-based infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tooling using Python.
- Implement and maintain configuration management and automation workflows using Ansible.
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
---------------------------
- 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Production Support, or related infrastructure roles.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools, preferably Ansible.
- Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting containerized environments using Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
- Strong problem-solving and incident management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
----------------------------
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale platforms and distributed systems.
- Background in financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience working with large-scale application platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
