Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Department by assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, grant tracking, accounts payable support, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with senior accounting staff to ensure accurate financial operations and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with maintaining financial records, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable functions and financial reporting activities.
• Assist with grant accounting, tracking, and audit documentation.
• Help monitor departmental budgets and financial performance.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and records in accordance with organizational policies.
• Assist with payroll and audit preparation activities as needed.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations and reporting needs.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Healthcare or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience.
• Grant accounting experience.
• Payroll processing and audit support experience.
