Role Summary:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer IV to support manufacturing test software, automation, and test-station infrastructure for advanced communication hardware. This role will work closely with development engineering and production operations to bring up, commission, qualify, deploy, and support manufacturing test stations.
The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming experience and be comfortable working across software, hardware, test equipment, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with development engineering and production teams during manufacturing test-station bring-up.
- Develop, automate, deploy, and support manufacturing test infrastructure.
- Perform software/hardware integration testing and debugging.
- Coordinate software deployment across multiple manufacturing test stations.
- Develop and deliver hands-on training to production operators on test software.
- Perform station commissioning activities, including Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Built-In Self-Test (BIST) validation.
- Support station qualification and release for production use.
- Investigate and troubleshoot yield issues during prototype and production builds.
- Develop procedures, preventive-maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for production support.
- Support production and integration activities for hardware subsystems.
- Work with laboratory instrumentation, test fixtures, and manufacturing test equipment.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues in production environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong
Python programming
experience:
object-oriented programming experience preferred.
- Experience with
CI/CD pipelines and software build/deployment processes
.
- Experience with
Linux/Unix
environments.
- Experience designing, automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure or test systems.
- Ability to work effectively across software development, engineering, and production environments.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing testing or production test experience.
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing experience.
- Experience deploying, bringing up, and supporting manufacturing test stations.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and test fixtures.
- Experience with National Instruments (NI) tools or systems.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as
RS-232, GPIB, or I2C
.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- Experience with aerospace or satellite manufacturing testing.
- Experience with networking hardware or optical communications.
- Experience with station commissioning, MSA, BIST, and production release criteria.
- Experience training production operators on test software.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn new optical communication technologies.
Work Environment
- This is an onsite role in
Redmond, Washington
. The position involves hands-on interaction with equipment, laboratory/test environments, and manufacturing operations. No travel is expected.
Education
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science
or a related field, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
, or relevant equivalent work experience.
