About The Role

The Mobile Engineer builds and maintains native mobile applications for iOS and Android that serve a large, active user base daily. The role owns features end-to-end - from architecture and implementation to release, monitoring, and iteration based on real production data.

This position sits on a product engineering team that ships on a weekly cadence. Mobile quality directly drives retention and revenue, so the role carries real ownership: crash-free rates, cold start performance, and release velocity are all metrics this engineer is accountable for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship native features in Swift/Kotlin (or Kotlin Multiplatform/React Native where applicable) for consumer-facing mobile products
  • Own feature development end-to-end: scoping with product, implementation, testing, staged rollout, and post-release analysis
  • Improve app performance and reliability - reduce crash rates, optimize startup time and memory usage, and instrument with analytics and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry)
  • Build and maintain shared design system components and ensure accessibility standards across both platforms
  • Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, push notifications, deep linking, and offline-first data layers with local persistence (Room, Core Data, SQLite)
  • Participate in code reviews, enforce CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions), and manage App Store / Play Store release processes
  • Collaborate with backend and design teams to define API contracts and mobile UX patterns early in the development cycle

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–6 years of mobile development experience shipping production apps to the App Store and/or Google Play
  • Deep proficiency in at least one native platform: Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose
  • Experience with modern architecture patterns: MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture, plus unit and UI testing (XCTest, JUnit, Espresso)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD for mobile, including automated builds, code signing, and phased rollouts
  • Solid understanding of mobile networking, threading/concurrency, memory management, and background processing constraints
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: cross-platform experience (React Native, Flutter, KMP), GraphQL experience, contributions to open-source mobile libraries, or experience with feature flagging and A/B testing frameworks
