Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to provide day-to-day support to customers and field service teams throughout product implementation, customization, integration, and issue resolution.
This role partners with product development engineers, testing teams, field support specialists, customers, and other stakeholders to define business needs, manage software changes, support user acceptance testing, resolve product issues, and strengthen product adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with product development engineers to track and communicate product design, development, support, and maintenance issues and solutions.
- Identify, document, and report product design, reliability, maintenance, and software problems.
- Gather and consolidate feedback from customers and field service teams to inform product requirements and improvements.
- Partner with stakeholders, development teams, and testing teams to analyze business needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Coordinate with field support specialists and customers to resolve product issues and expand product usage.
- Answer customer and field support questions and provide guidance on product integration and infrastructure issues.
- Collect, document, and maintain product functional requirements and make recommendations based on business and customer needs.
- Manage software change requests, including scope clarification, affected components, business needs, cost estimates, risks, resources, and status.
- Support major product installations and customizations while maintaining information about customer use and product experiences.
- Develop, evaluate, and advise on user acceptance testing strategies, environments, criteria, plans, and processes.
- Document problem-resolution progress, communicate updates to customers, and follow appropriate notification and escalation procedures.
- Analyze alternatives, validate decision options, assess potential impacts, and use informed judgment to recommend productive decisions.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience as a Lead Product Owner.
- Working knowledge of business analysis tasks, techniques, methodologies, and tools used to identify business needs and recommend stakeholder-focused solutions.
- Extensive experience with decision-making and critical-thinking tools and techniques, including evaluating alternatives, validating assumptions, and assessing potential impacts.
- Extensive experience communicating effectively across organizational levels and adapting written materials and presentations for the intended audience.
- Extensive experience managing software change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Working knowledge of software engineering practices, product integration, development methodologies, structured documentation, and software design considerations.
- Working knowledge of software problem-management strategies, tracking tools, resolution procedures, and escalation processes.
- Extensive knowledge of the business and operational aspects of software products, including functional requirements, installations, customizations, current use, future plans, and product vision.
- Extensive experience with user acceptance testing activities, frameworks, environments, acceptance criteria, strategies, plans, and processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, software development teams, testing teams, field support specialists, and customers.
- Ability to work onsite in the Chicago office beginning on the first day of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience researching tools and techniques for monitoring software product effectiveness.
- Experience supporting advanced or nontraditional software product uses and assessing related opportunities and challenges.

Work Environment
- Hybrid position based in Chicago, IL, currently requiring two days per week in the office.
- Onsite requirements may increase in the future based on business needs.
- Candidates who are not local must be prepared to relocate at their own expense and work onsite beginning on the first day.
- Monday-through-Friday, first-shift schedule.
- Potential travel of 0% to 25%.
- Required work assets will be provided.
- The interview process consists of three separate interviews conducted through Microsoft Teams with video enabled: a coding interview, an architecture interview, and a behavioral team interview.
- The final interview round may be conducted onsite.
