About the Role

Elite Talent Hub is hiring a Cloud Computing Application Architect for a federal public health data modernization program. You’ll lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions that help modernize how national public health data is collected, managed and used.

This is a hands-on architect role. You’ll make cloud design decisions, write and review .NET code, deploy and troubleshoot in AWS and hybrid environments, and guide a cross-functional team of engineers and product stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud architectures supporting public health data modernization
• Assess current environments and recommend tools, architectures and solutions across on-premise, cloud and hybrid models
• Work with engineers, product teams and modernization stakeholders to set architectural strategy, design standards and technical direction
• Deploy and troubleshoot solutions in AWS and hybrid cloud environments, following cloud governance, engineering best practices and security protocols
• Use Gen-AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code) to speed up development and improve solution quality
• Expand cloud delivery through automation, DevOps practices and cloud-native security
• Mentor team members and support complex cloud initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years designing, configuring and administering enterprise applications in cloud environments
• 3+ years of hands-on development with .NET, Entity Framework and SQL
• Experience architecting and deploying solutions in AWS and hybrid cloud environments
• Experience building secure cloud architectures that follow engineering and cloud governance standards
• Hands-on experience with Gen-AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex or Claude Code
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting IaaS environments and Linux/Unix systems, including shell scripting
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions
• Proven ability to lead technical teams
• High school diploma or GED
• U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance frameworks
• Prior experience on CDC, HHS or other federal IT and data modernization programs
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification

Pay: $85.00 - $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
