Staff Accountant

Overview

Join our accounting team as a Staff Accountant and help keep financial records accurate, organized, and ready for informed decision-making. You’ll support corporate accounting through general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting while handling sensitive information with care.

Duties

• Prepare journal entries and support general ledger accounting, including debits and credits.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, review account activity, and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable management, bookkeeping, and payroll management.
• Support budgeting, tax work, and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Use spreadsheets and accounting systems for data entry, Excel data analysis, and recordkeeping; respond to routine customer service inquiries.

Experience

• Accounting and finance experience, with knowledge of accounting, financial concepts, numeracy, math, and financial acumen.
• Familiarity with account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and credit analysis.
• Experience with accounting software or financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Quicken, or other accounting systems.
• Microsoft Office and spreadsheet skills; 10-key typing and confidential information handling are useful.
• Experience with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), public, governmental, nonprofit, or financial services accounting is helpful. Exposure to Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft is also welcome.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 per week
