Responsibilities
- Design and develop integrated material handling systems utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to create detailed schematics and layouts.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and management to ensure timely execution of system installation and upgrades.
- Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions to optimize performance.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, vision inspection systems, and industrial automation equipment to ensure seamless operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, and production staff to align system designs with operational needs.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement strategies to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Perform engineering data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing process enhancements.
- Develop technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts adhering to GD&T standards for precision manufacturing.
- Lead factory or plant experience projects involving assembly lines, tooling, robotics integration, and industrial equipment upgrades.
- Support quality improvement programs by troubleshooting engineering issues related to process engineering, industrial automation, or mechanical systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools and techniques for managing complex engineering projects.
- Strong root cause analysis capabilities combined with problem-solving expertise in manufacturing settings.
- Extensive experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo for designing systems schematics.
- Hands-on knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robot programming, welding automation, and vision inspection systems.
- Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes and tooling design considerations.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous process improvement strategies.
- Ability to analyze engineering data effectively using industry-standard tools for process optimization.
- Solid understanding of GD&T standards for mechanical drawings and schematics accuracy.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in team management within a factory or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, and factory safety protocols.
