Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Trauma Experience Required)

Location: Brookdale University Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY

Job Type: Full-Time (13 WEEKS CONTRACT)

Shift: 3 days or nights per week + every other weekend (12-hour shifts)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing trauma and critical care patients in a fast-paced environment. Trauma experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center is required.

This role involves delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency and trauma patients.
• Perform assessments through interviews, physical exams, observations, and record reviews.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per medical and hospital guidelines.
• Respond quickly and effectively to trauma and critical situations.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Coordinate care activities such as patient education, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff and team members.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of care standards and nursing practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in NY.
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Trauma experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center is required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• TNCC and PALS certification is required.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively.
