Sr. Data Scientist (Remote, 15 Yrs Req Exp)

Digital Strategy LLC is seeking experienced **Senior Data Scientists** to support a federal client in developing advanced data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence solutions.

The role requires a hands\-on data scientist who can work directly with internal clients, modernize legacy analytical workloads, develop production\-ready data products, and help drive adoption of cloud, machine learning, large language model, and agentic AI technologies.

Candidates should currently have **VA access** and be able to obtain and maintain a **Suitability/Public Trust clearance**.

**Responsibilities**

• Consult with internal clients to understand operational needs and develop data products and analytical workflows supporting critical operations.
• Migrate and modernize legacy analytical workloads to cloud environments and demonstrate measurable operational improvements.
• Lead and support adoption of artificial intelligence capabilities that drive business outcomes.
• Develop reference use cases, tutorials, reference code, and training materials that help users adopt cloud technologies.
• Conduct office hours and hands\-on enablement sessions to increase client capabilities.
• Identify and prepare datasets for machine learning and advanced analytics.
• Develop, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models addressing complex business problems.
• Support the complete data science lifecycle from problem definition and dataset identification through development, deployment, and production use.
• Apply traditional machine learning techniques as well as large language models and agentic AI workflows.

**Required Qualifications**

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or another related scientific or technical discipline, plus 15\+ years of experience, or commensurate experience.
• Strong Python skills.
• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis.
• 2\+ years of experience working with leading cloud platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience supporting the complete end\-to\-end data science lifecycle, including dataset identification, analysis, model development, deployment, and production operations.
• Experience with data science and machine learning tooling such as NumPy, SciPy, and MLflow.
• Strong understanding of traditional machine learning methods and toolsets.
• Working knowledge of large language models and agentic AI workflows.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Current VA access.

**Preferred Qualifications**

• 5\+ years of data scientist experience with multiple solutions or products deployed into operational environments.
• 2\+ years of experience developing dashboards, reports, and other visualized insights supporting operational requirements.
• Experience using R, Stata, or SAS.
• Experience refactoring R, Stata, or SAS applications and analytical codebases into Python.
• Experience deploying solutions that leverage large language models or AI agents.
