About this role
Deloitte Technology's Product Engineering team is seeking a Product Designer and Researcher to shape digital products used by Deloitte professionals, businesses, and clients. In this senior, hands-on role, you will combine user research, interaction design, prototyping, and iterative testing to turn complex, high-stakes workflows into clear and usable product experiences.
You will partner with product, engineering, and design colleagues to frame problems, evaluate solutions, and translate research into decisions that shape roadmaps. You will contribute from discovery through delivery while raising the quality and consistency of experience practices across teams.
Work you'll do
As a Product Designer and Researcher on the US Deloitte Technology Product Engineering team, you will:
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, usability tests, surveys, and prototype evaluations, to uncover user needs and validate product decisions
- Turn research findings into personas, journey maps, opportunity areas, and clear recommendations that influence product roadmaps and design priorities
- Design interactions, wireframes, and prototypes that communicate complex workflows and let users and stakeholders test ideas early
- Partner with product managers, engineers, program managers, and designers to define problems, prioritize user needs, and iterate on solutions throughout the product lifecycle
- Measure the effect of design decisions using usability findings and behavioral data, and use those results to refine the experience
- Facilitate design-thinking workshops and research readouts that align stakeholders and drive decisions
- Uphold design-quality and accessibility standards, and contribute to shared design-system and research practices
- Mentor designers and researchers and lead design or research workstreams
A successful candidate would possess these skills
- Strong command of both research and design craft, with the judgment to know which one a problem needs
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear research questions and design directions
- Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting findings and recommendations to product and engineering leaders
- Ability to influence product decisions through evidence and storytelling
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams and prioritize multiple efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across product, engineering, and design teams
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to other designers and researchers
- Bonus: experience with AI-powered products
- Experience designing or researching AI-driven products is a plus. This includes LLM-based tools, conversational interfaces, and agentic experiences where AI completes tasks on a user's behalf. We're especially interested in candidates who have shaped how people interact with, trust, and oversee these systems.
