About this role

The Company:

David is building the next generation of high-protein foods. Our mission is simple: create tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. We launched with a category-defining protein bar that delivers exceptional nutrition without compromising on taste and have since expanded into new categories, including frozen desserts and ready-to-drink protein beverages.

Our ambition is to build a broad platform of high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that consumers genuinely crave.

David is part of Medici Brands, which recently raised a $250 million Series B at a $2.25 billion valuation, marking a major milestone in its rapid growth. Led by CEO Peter Rahal, Co-founder and Former CEO of RXBAR, David combines deep expertise in product innovation, brand building, and scaling category-defining consumer businesses.

This is a rare opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing brands in consumer food at a defining moment in its growth. As David expands into new categories and markets, we're building toward an ambitious vision: becoming the leading high-protein food brand in North America and beyond.

Role Overview

Every David product moves through a complex network of suppliers, warehouses, co-manufacturers, and fulfillment centers before reaching a customer. The Inventory Operations Analyst ensures we know what inventory we have, where it is, and how to deploy it to keep production running and customers supplied.

You will own the systems, data, and analytical work behind inventory operations across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, including item master data, production planning support, inventory movements, reconciliations, and reporting.

This role is for someone who wants to understand how a high-growth CPG supply chain works, from an ingredient arriving at a co-manufacturer to a finished bar reaching a retailer's DC, Amazon, or our own website. You will investigate discrepancies, solve operational problems, and work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Fulfillment, Sales, and Finance to turn inventory data into reliable decisions.

Inventory Health & Production Planning

  • Monitor raw material, packaging, and finished goods inventory across locations, tracking coverage, days on hand, aging, and expiration.
  • Translate production schedules and consumption forecasts into material requirements, shortages, and recommended actions to ensure production readiness.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy, actual consumption, and inventory trends to identify potential stockouts, excess inventory, and short-dated lots.
  • Partner with Procurement and Logistics to prioritize material availability and resolve inventory constraints before they disrupt production.

Item Master Data & New Product Setup

  • Build and maintain item and SKU records in NetSuite and connected systems for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods, partnering with Procurement, Commercialization, Quality, Marketing, and Retail.
  • Ensure accurate item attributes, including vendor and specification IDs, units of measure, GTIN/UPC, pack and pallet configurations, shelf-life requirements, and lot controls.
  • Standardize item naming and data across suppliers, co-manufacturers, 3PLs, WMS/TMS platforms, and EDI to prevent transaction errors and reporting inconsistencies.

Inventory Movements & Replenishment

  • Execute and track purchase order and transfer order fulfillments and receipts across suppliers, co-manufacturers, warehouses, and fulfillment centers, ensuring accurate quantities, lot codes, and timing.
  • Develop finished goods replenishment allocations across fulfillment centers based on demand, inventory coverage, and channel priorities.
  • Coordinate raw material transfers to support production schedules while balancing service levels and transportation costs.
  • Investigate movement exceptions and process approved inventory adjustments, lot reassignments, status changes, and dispositions in coordination with Quality and other stakeholders.

Inventory Reconciliation & Controls

  • Own lot-level inventory reconciliations across NetSuite, 3PLs, and co-manufacturers, identifying discrepancies and resolving root causes.
  • Coordinate cycle counts and implement repeatable controls to improve inventory accuracy and prevent recurring issues.
  • Support Finance with month-end close, inventory valuation, and documentation of inventory adjustments.

Reporting, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Develop and maintain inventory reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into availability, inventory movements, and operational performance.
  • Build and improve tools that support production, replenishment, and distribution decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows, improve data quality, and strengthen inventory processes.
  • Use quantitative analysis to refine planning assumptions, measure operational performance, and drive better inventory decisions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-output environment, such as investment banking, consulting, early-stage startups, or supply chain and inventory operations.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to work with large data sets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and persistence in identifying and solving root causes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and execute quickly in a fast-growing environment.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate complex operational issues into actionable recommendations.
  • Low ego, a willingness to do whatever the work requires, and an interest in building a brand with a mission to increase muscle and decrease fat.
  • Preferred:

Experience with NetSuite or another ERP, and familiarity with WMS/TMS platforms.

  • Preferred:

Experience in CPG, food and beverage, manufacturing, or retail, particularly with lot-controlled and shelf-life-sensitive inventory

Practicalities

  • This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City. We work onsite five days a week- when the culture fits, it is fun to be in the office together.
  • Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 per year, inclusive of bonus.
  • Company equity options.
  • 100% covered Health, Vision, Dental Insurance.
  • 401(k) with 4% match.
  • Additional perks, such as covered gym expenses.
  • Substantial and required PTO.
