About this role

Job Description We are seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer to join a growing cybersecurity team. This individual will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security programs, policies, and controls while helping protect critical systems, data, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical security background, experience supporting both cloud and on-premise environments, and the ability to mentor junior security team members. This position offers exposure to a broad range of security functions rather than focusing on a single specialty area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Serve as a security subject matter expert and advisor across the organization.
  • Partner with project teams to ensure secure implementation of new technologies and systems.
  • Monitor security controls and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts and participate in security investigations.
  • Support security tools including SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, MFA, and logging platforms.
  • Analyze security risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Create security documentation, alerts, reports, and communications.
  • Collaborate with external security partners for threat detection and monitoring.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the security team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of cybersecurity or information security experience (senior-level experience preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, risk management, and auditing.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, patch management, SAML, MFA, and security monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting both cloud and on-premise environments, preferably AWS.
  • Knowledge of incident response, SIEM, EDR, and operational security practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • CISSP certification preferred.
  • Experience with PCI, SOC 1, HIPAA, or similar compliance frameworks is a plus.
  • Previous experience mentoring or guiding less experienced security professionals is preferred.
